Hi, I'm thinking about starting this game, and have some questions for some of the regular players about the actual miniatures and painting. 1) Are the miniatures already on bases as shown on the Black Tree website, or do they need to be put on bases by us? If the bases are included, then does all of the grass/ice etc. come stuck onto the base? 2) While looking through the list of miniatures on www.doctorwho invasionearth.com, I noticed that there were several numbers are missing (such as DW222, DWDW311, DW468-DW474 and DW522-DW531). Were these miniatures actually ever produced, and if so, where can I find a list and/or pictures of them? 3) Are there any specialised paint sets for the range? 4) If not, then can you recommend a set of paints in the £10 - £30 price range that would give me a set of paints to do most of the Doctors, Companions and major monsters. 5) Which rules are better, the official ones in the starter set, or the unnoficial ones over at www.drwhominiatures.co.uk? Thank you very much in advance for your kind help.

1) The Miniatures are not painted or based. Bases do come in the orders also. Some Miniatures need assembling like the Daleks which I find trickey cleaning the metal flashing out from between the sensor globes. They look good in the first Doctor Grey with Blue globe colour scheme. Invasion Cybermen DW 208 (or was that 206?) come in two pieces. Unit Heavy squad has a Bren gun with small pieces as well.
As for grass and rocks, I always do that last.
2) Almost everything I know of this game history I got off this page.
3) Black tree does sell paints, but I do not stick to a specific brand myself.
4) I don't have enough painting done to give good advise on this one.
5) Never heard of the unofficial rules. I think I will check them out.
Sorry I could not offer more
